EXAMINATIONS 
students, Bashir and Akram meet outside the examination Hall after the paper is over. They talk about the examination show there reactions

Bahir: Hello Akram, how did fair in the examination?
Akram: To hell with the examinations! I fail to understand their Importance. What is the need to test the students? I tell you examination is a matter of cramming, If a student commit things to memory, he stands a better chance to pass, superficial his knowledge may be!

Bashir: Well! you seem to deadly against the examinations. You know It IS an essential part of the education process You study your books for one or two years. Now they Want to check or judge howl for you have learnt your books successfully, examination is, the only criterion. So you must accept the system
Akram: The examination system you talk of is not dependable. It is more a matter of luck or, say, chance than a matter of judgement. Four or five questions are set on the texts that you have read and you are examined! It is based on ratta or learning things by rot. If a student has wonderful memory, he crams things and vomits them into lap of the examiner and gets good marks.

Bashir: I may agree to this point but inspite of your criticism, 'eve can know about a person's ability only through examining him. Interview may be adopted as a necessary part of the examination, This is an age old practice. There is no way out
Akram: You see every year the position holders condemn the examination and suggest semester system. In private and public sector four or five education systems are in vogue Our education system is a mixture of everything, One cannot say for certain what is beneficial and what is not.

Bashir: Semester system is worth recommending. You study more books intensively. But in this system. you once take the test and forget about the books that you have studied. Then you prepare yourself fora new set of books. You lose the sense of continuity. I would like to say that you must put in regular hard work, study, everything thoroughly, understand it properly, and preserve it in your memory. You must revise the material as often as you can.
Akram: I think you have- suggested a good method of studying books and preparing for examination. Haphazard study of books when exams are at hand is not helpful. Only regular work throughout the academic session and revision may benefit a student.

Bashir: Thank God, you have come round to my point of view. I tell you one thing more. What cannot be cured must be endured. It is not within our power to change the examination system. Let us, therefore, go and study our books.
